PURPOSE & IMPACT: This role is known for bringing a strategic consumer understanding to your segment(s). Landing strategically important workstreams such as Demand Spaces, Product Superiority and Foresights development, to help build our brand renovation and innovation plans. Landing ‘Our Consumer’ closeness toolkit for the business. This role ensures the consumer is at the heart of our plans.
We need someone who has a passion for understanding consumers and harnessing that to shape our plans across the business. This person will work with both Central and Cluster teams to ensure deep consumer understanding is embedded in the creation of our brand plans. They are well versed in a range of approaches to understanding consumers, both today and in the future, and can apply this thinking to the development of innovation and in making the teams they work with closer to our consumer.
STRATEGIC INSIGHT
Understands the unmet needs of the business in terms of strategic understanding. Leads the embedding of key tools and approaches, such as Demand Spaces that provide a strategic framework of consumption occasions and lands them with key stakeholders in their Central teams.
EMBEDS FORESIGHTS
Embeds Foresights capabilities in the business, providing a future view of our consumers and potential future scenarios. Inspires stakeholders with consumer understanding and provokes action. Integrates into business practices such as innovation and Strategic Planning.
CONSUMER CLOSENESS
Leads adoption of ‘Consumer Closeness’ to create a culture change across their teams in terms of becoming more consumer-centric in our business decision-making. Adopts the toolkit to engage with consumers at key moments (e.g. innovation projects, annual planning).
INNOVATION
Assume a key leadership role in the development of robust innovation plans through the development of approaches to innovation and insight development through the process. Bring Design Thinking approaches into the innovation development process for their segments.
PRODUCT SUPERIORITY
Leads product superiority programme for their segments to ensure our products are a source of competitive advantage. Identifies required improvements to our key products to maintain superiority.
