Overview

PURPOSE & IMPACT: This role is known for the due diligence management of certification covering EU deforestation regulations which come into play at the end of 2025. These regulations require the creation of linked certificates across the supply chain (bloc-chain) to demonstrate compliance with law. These certificates will need to be uploaded to a central EU database and form our defence if challenged by authorities in any EU market.

 

We need someone who is self-motivated and who can demonstrate use of technical data systems, has the ability to liaise with suppliers and customers in a professional and clear manner, meet tight deadlines and create documentation and process standards to enable smooth implementation of the requirements.

Responsibilities

Certificate management and administration

This role will lead on access the EU deforestation certification database through the EU TRACES system. The role will create link certificates throughout the supply chain and identify non-compliant materials for the business. This is the initial focus of the role in ensuring compliance by end of 2025. The order of priority for this task will be based on risk from supply countries and the incumbent in the role must be able to assess this as part of the certification process.

 

The role will be required to also create, manage, and populate an internal database on derivative materials to establish due diligence for these materials outside of certification.

 

The role will be accountable for maintaining information to both suppliers and customers on compliance to the certificate requirements.

 

The role must work closely with key partners such as regulatory and sustainability to ensure accurate information and to ensure the business does not breach any restricted use of materials in its operations. This role is critical to identifying where non-compliances occur.

 

This role will also cover invoice raising within SAP for the Supplier Assurance/ Regulatory team as well as data management

 

Standards and process development

The role will establish a standard protocol for the ongoing management of certification generation and ongoing annual review for the business based on risk. This will include work instructions and management of an internal list of certificates and due diligence management for reference purposes.

 

Audit process

The role will establish a priority of audit for both certified and due diligence materials based on risk across the supply chain for audit. The role is not required to carry out the audit in person.    

 

Reporting

The role will be required to provide periodic updates for the management team on compliance and progress. The form of this will be aligned with the successful incumbent to ensure understanding and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Systems and database competencies across SQL or similar systems
  • Previous technical administration experiences a bonus
  • Report writing
  • Self-motivated and able to demonstrate working to deadlines
  • Can demonstrate grasp of complex supply chains.
  • Can carry out risk assessments based on country of origin
