Overview

This leadership role will lead our global culinary insights across our product segments and multi channel including food service. Responsible for setting the strategic culinary direction and developing a strong food culture throughout the organisation:

 

Leads the team of international RDQ culinary specialists to bring new ideas and prototypes into Product Design (all channels, including Food Service) and Superiority programs.

 

Showcases our foods at key meetings and workshops and build tools and a support network for effective customer sell-ins. Provides culinary input to market activation, promotions and website activity as aligned with the Chief RDQ Officer.

 

Creates and leverages an external network of culinary experts to build and inspire a food culture within RDQ team and Nomad, delivering Culinary Leadership in frozen foods across markets. Increases our culinary reputation in the external world through collaborations and partnerships, including in the Food Service channel.

 

Develops basic ingredient, sensory, superiority and consumer understanding within the culinary team to facilitate collaborations for better quality prototyping across RDQ Design Teams.

Responsibilities

RDQ Leadership & Governance
Responsible for leading capability of own resources, managing career development of teams within the work area through excellent line management skills and coaching. Responsible for recruiting and deploying resources and budget in the most effective way to deliver targets, including shared targets across the RDQLT. Member of the RDQLT and works in a highly collaborative way with fellow LT members in line with shared outcomes and to deliver RDQ, commitments to the Business, Strategic Plan and Annual Plan. Responsible as a member of the LT for governance and management of project portfolio across the RDQ function.

Culinary Design-Deliver Programs
Maintain a deep understanding of global food trends, ingredients and techniques to feed into product development across the teams. Propose and create recipes for innovation, renovation and Superiority for priority Global Core and Cluster projects using the programs and project briefs provided by the Future Core, Global Core a Cluster RDQ leaders.

 

Culinary networks

Create and leverage an external network of culinary experts for better product design outcomes. Access culinary inspiration and trend information from collaborations with suppliers, culinary institutes and agencies/opinion formers. Work with the Future Core Design team on Open Innovation ways of working in the culinary space and on potential ventures for Future Core projects.

 

Culinary Excellence and Market Activation

 

Consult with Cluster GTM RDQ teams and Marketing and Sales partners, creating protocols and toolkits for effective sell in with retailers and to ensure RDQ Culinary resources take a lead in showcasing our products.

 

Culinary Reputation
Define and deliver a culinary vision and strategy aligned with our business strategic goals to build our culinary reputation in the external world and within Nomad Foods. Develop influence in external culinary forums, seek to engage with or to recruit from such bodies to develop the capability of the RDQ Culinary Excellence team. Represent the company as the culinary ambassador at industry events enhancing the company's reputation and championing frozen.

 

Contribution to Quality
Performance quality is the responsibility of everyone in RDQ and the RDQ leadership team sets the example and drives the mindset. From Design For Manufacture and Quality By Design principles, through to Right First Time delivery of projects and data, the Leader ensures quality ways of working are consistent in actions across their team.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in culinary innovation
  • Extensive expertise in multi channel product development
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams in creating exceptional food products that resonate across multiple markets
  • Extensive knowledge of global culinary trends, food service operations
