Overview

We have an exciting opportunity available for you to grow your career and make a difference at Birds Eye!   Joining us as a National Account Manager you'll lead on the execution of the customer business plan to achieve and exceed annual targets.  You’ll do this by utilising category and consumer insight to achieve key business targets and be accountable for the planning and delivery of a profitable growth plan with your customer.  

Responsibilities

This is a key role within our Irish commercial team where you’ll manage a broad portfolio of branded products for the business within the Birds Eye, Aunt Bessie and Goodfella’s Pizza portfolios. In brief, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Building partnerships with stakeholders to develop, manage & execute Joint Business Plans to achieve both your own and the customer’s Sales, Profit & Share targets. (Full P&L ownership and updating the sales and gross profit forecasts)
  • Work with internal & external customers to secure best in class visibility of our Brands.
  • Ownership of the promotional strategy – utilising best practise in bringing together all 3 brands across categories to deliver the best offer for the Customer, Consumer and Birds Eye.
  • Monitoring portfolio effectiveness via the company tool kit / reporting system and feed learnings into the category, RGM, customer marketing and customer finance teams.
  • Own the day-to-day commercial relationship with the Buyers in your respective categories - this will also include some exposure to Senior Buying managers, and Category Directors.

Qualifications

We’re looking for a National Account Manager who has previous experience of managing convenience and wholesalers or discounters within a branded blue chip FMCG organisation.  You’ll have a track record of maintaining and improving business relationships with those customers, more then used to formulating and reviewing detailed business plans. 

 

  • A high degree of analytical skills, you can interpret data and use it to a commercial advantage - You’re able to scenario plan against internal budgets and understands key cost drivers.
  • P&L Analysis and course correction, you can see reality and take the appropriate decision/action decisively.
  • Resilience and excellent negotiation skills in order to achieve mutually acceptable outcomes in often very demanding circumstances.
  • Grocery experience with experience of both branded and own label business would be great, but you have a category and customer first mind-set.
