Overview

This role is a significant role in the organization, which requires experience in product development as well as technical and quality management skills to deliver the agreed projects and the legal compliance of the respective product portfolio.

 

The role is typically based at the Market Unit (MU) or at SU site. The purpose of this Cluster role is to take responsibility for projects and activities in the RDQ programme, Quality & R&D, associated development of products. 

 

The Assistant RDQ Manager manages projects in the local pipeline of innovation, renovation, and fuel for growth. To develop the pipeline the Assistant RDQ Manager partners with the MU Marketing members in project teams, with support from RDQ Manager in the MU and broader Central and Cluster team.  This role also takes responsibility for risk, quality and legality for products assigned in the portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Technical project management of Packaging, NPD & EPD projects in accordance with the agreed procedures to ensure successful and timely delivery of projects.
  • Provides accurate technical data throughout allocated projects as well as supporting business reporting and consumer services
  • Build & maintain strong relationships with colleagues in R&D & other functions (MU’s, SU’s, TQS, Procurement & the Category Marketing).
  • Maintain a constant awareness of competitor activity

Qualifications

  • Must be qualified to at least degree level in a Technical subject, eg Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, Physics
  • Experience (1+ year) within the Food & Drink industry in a Technical /Quality / Product Development role
  • Proficient in English language and business languages for the MU/Cluster
  • Eager to understand and anticipate consumer behaviour
  • Experience-attitude of either concept development & rapid prototyping or/and delivering Quality Improvement Programmes with suppliers.
