Overview

Nomad Foods Europe Limited is Europe’s largest branded frozen food business with sales more than €2.2 billion, with Fish representing c.40% of Group Turnover.  A period of strong growth has precipitated a controlled expansion of the procurement team within this iconic CPG brand. Group Procurement is a highly successful collaborative function and operates a crucial role in the supply chain, covering a Group spend of c.€1.1 billion of spend.

 

As the Buyer Fish, you will develop and lead long term sourcing strategy across direct raw materials fish species as well as sourcing from co-manufactured finished goods.  You will also partner & engage with functional leads but not limited to (R&D, Quality, Sourcing Units & Marketing) to design and implement sourcing strategy, innovation and renovation for all categories in scope.

 

You will also lead and support at cross functional level business priorities and relationships to deliver sustainable year-on-year. Benefits on Productivity and Cash Flow and accomplish function strategic objectives and develop internal capability and organization for fish procurement.

Responsibilities

You will support the Senior Buyer Fish to develop and execute advantaged long-term sourcing strategy / playbooks in your category to deliver sustainable improvements in terms of cost, quality, service and innovation, in collaboration with the Fish procurement team and other relevant business stakeholders.

  • You will understand key cost drivers, industry trends and standard methodologies to design/implement the sourcing strategies for all directs categories in scope.
  • Develop and maintain long term pricing mechanisms and long relationship strategies for fish species to drive sustainable competitive advantage.
  • You will be responsible of securing the directs supply, assuring high quality standards, on-time deliveries, bench costs and ensure food safety regulations & CSR requirements.

You will be accountable for your category spend (supply, cost, service, quality & cash) spend across the Nomad business.

 

You will lead sourcing strategies for your category and demonstrate knowledge and expertise across the business and optimal commercial conditions:

  • You will lead creation and execution of procurement trends and actively manage any potential challenges.
  • Ensure a productivity pipeline delivers +8% annual net productivity and align with function objectives by driving increase in payment terms across spend supply base.
  • You will ensure all category costs are appropriately negotiated and all contracts are in place / managed & administered in accordance with Procurement Policies and critical metrics
  • You will lead supplier performance and contract compliance – providing regular financial, service and quality forecasts to the Senior Buyer Fish
  • You will work closely with Group & Local partners to ensure deep understanding of functional needs, develop strategies to enable breakthrough ideas capturing from suppliers and ensure their implementation improve value for the Business, reduce Total Cost of Ownership and optimise cash flow.
  • You will be responsible for the development, execution and follow up of Risk Management of your category which is aimed reduce the supply risk, currency exposure and deliver the CSR goals.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Finance, Business, Economics degree, Master preferred
  • Excellent Functional knowledge (2 to 3 years+ in leading Procurement roles): Depth of different aspects of Procurement such as sourcing, category management, preferably within Fish or Food & Beverage industry
  • A good level of experience in sourcing processes and procurement standard methodologies, with some experience of implementing them in a global environment
