Overview

It is an exciting time to join Nomad Foods. Due to the high growth of the business, Nomad Foods has a desire to become more data driven.

Reporting into the Data & Analytics Director, you will have the responsibility for setting up a new Data Governance & Master Data team to ensure the availability, integrity, usability, and security of data across Nomad Foods.

This role will drive data ownership across the organisation whilst working closely with the Reporting Team and the Data Engineering & Insight Team to ensure data quality requirements meets the needs of the Nomad business.

You will manage a team, and that team will work in amongst the business understanding the roles and interactions staff have with data. The team will liaise constantly with Data Stewards in place across Nomad Foods.

In order to deliver certain projects, this role is required to build effective relationships with 3rd parties / contractors so that the team can be augmented to ensure smooth delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Establishing a data governance framework to have the right processes, policies, and roles and responsibilities in place.
  • Setting up & running the Data Governance Board on a regular basis.
  • Working with Data Owners to ensure their data sets are secure, accurate, timely, and consistent.
  • Ensuring a strong Data Steward network is in place to create, maintain, & retire Master Data.
  • Monitoring & actioning Data Quality measures following the implementation of a Data Quality tool.
  • Implementing & monitoring data controls including exporting of data.
  • Leading the centralisation & management of Data Definitions.
  • Defining Data Policies & Standards including Data Storage, Retention Policy & Unstructured Data.
  • Developing & rolling out a Data Literacy programme.
  • Monitoring & ensuring compliance to policies.
  • Partnering business & 3rd parties on data security & compliance requirements.
  • Owning and ensuring good working relationship with the Key Suppliers for area of responsibility, including annual budget management and cost optimisation of relevant solutions & applications.
  • Establishing strong relationships with local and group function teams to ensure an effective interface between both parties.
  • Leading, developing, coaching, and engaging team members to build future leadership capabilities and ensuring timely and effective completion of all people related activities including PDPs, reward reviews and succession planning.

Qualifications

  • Expertise across data governance, data quality, and data management.
  • Setting up and running a Data Governance team.
  • Experience of setting up and chairing a Data Governance Board.
  • Establishing a Data Governance Framework.
  • Experience of managing a similar type and size of team, including giving feedback, coaching, and developing people and teams to be the best they can be.
