Overview

Nomad Foods was formed in 2015 and with revenues of €2.6bn is the largest frozen food company in Europe. Nomad owns a portfolio of leading brands including Birds Eye, Goodfellas Pizza and Aunt Bessie’s to name a few.

Reporting to the Group FD, and leading a team of c180 FTE across the Shared Finance organisation, this role will deliver a commercial, customer-focused, high-quality set of managed finance services, including RTR, OTC, FP&A and P2P, across the Nomad Foods Group. The role will also work in partnership with the SAP S4HANA Business Transformation program team to support implementation of s4HANA and the transformation of processes to support the Shared Finance Centre team that meets the needs of the Nomad Foods business.

 

We are seeking an experienced leader who is accountable for results and able to lead by example. They should show humility to build collaborative relationships across the Finance Leadership Team and the wider Nomad Foods organization, to deliver value creation with a one Nomad P&L mindset.

 

Always operating with integrity, this individual demonstrates a thoughtful and robust approach in their influencing style which is visible through their ability to cut through ambiguity, and deliver well thought-out, objective decisions and clear messages. Leading and motivating a large team across the Share Finance Centre, this individual will actively champion the development of great people and culture across the finance community.

SHARED FINANCE PURPOSE

Shared Finance purpose is clearly communicated and is understood: Ensure comms and engagement plans are in place to support the success of the Shared Finance Team by ensuring all stakeholders are aligned to the purpose and plan, and that appropriate governance, decision making, and ways of working are in place to secure the successful build, maintain and running of the operation.    

 

BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP

Maintains strong partnership with business leaders. Develops trusted and objective relationships with stakeholders and business leaders which provide opportunity to co-create, challenge and maximise business delivery and value creation to support in exceeding Nomad Foods Financial objectives.

 

FINANCIAL DELIVERY

Provides accurate and robust data: Leads the team to ensure all process and reports meet business expectations. Accountability for providing data which enables accurate tracking of financial performance and ability to identify risks and opportunities. Provides leadership, decision making and advise in areas of accountability equipping leaders with the information required.

 

OPERATIONAL DELIVERY

Focus on service delivery: Day to day leadership of the Finance operational shared service, delivery of all key aspects of a high performing Shared Finance Team including the development of appropriate KPI’s to monitor service delivery, including measures to ensure ongoing improvement in service levels and productivity.

 

EVOLUTION OF SHARED FINANCE

Lead the evolution and optimisation for Shared Finance: In consultation with key stakeholders align plans to maximise the new systems (S4H) capabilities and develop a cost effective operating model in line with business case. Ensure that the plans respond to the capability builds needed for colleagues as well as the operational requirements.

 

COMPLAINCE

Implementation and adherence to compliance policies and procedures: Accountable for adherence to internal and external financial compliance across the Nomad Foods network (incl SOX  CoBP and respective legislative reporting requirements). Identifies any compliance risk in good time to implement mitigation plans which ensure ongoing compliance.

 

BUILDS CAPABILITY & TALENT

Ensures diverse talent pipeline is in place for the future.  Coaches and develops team members, managing performance, development and talent conversations appropriately.  Actively works to identify and build critical capabilities in the organization via clarity of roles and accountabilities and selecting and/or developing the talent required within the teams to deliver in year performance.  Has the vision and ability to build capabilities required in the long term to support development of talent pipeline.

 

LEADS ACROSS THE ORGANISATION

Builds cross-functional partnerships.  collaborate and partner on priorities that contribute to the wider Nomad Foods agenda.  Builds trust and creates the conditions to enable direct and cross functional teams to deliver strong performance and work together effectively.   Builds diverse, effective teams reflective of the markets we operate in.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION

  • Qualified Accountant
  • Experienced Shared Finance Leader ideally within commercial/FMCG business environment
  • Demonstrative experience in leading and developing diverse teams.
  • Track record of developing business partnership/influencing and multiple levels in organisation.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering within a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Preferred: European language skills
