Nomad is headquartered in the UK and listed on NYSE. It has ambitions to grow into a global Consumer foods company through further acquisitions, as evidenced by the recent acquisitions of the Swiss business in 2020 and Fortenova Frozen Foods Group in 2021.

 

Working in the Group Financial Reporting Team, the role involves the production of reporting deliverables for headquarter entities as well as the consolidated Group Financial Statements.

 

Supporting the production of timely and relevant financial reporting to key Stakeholders, including the Board & Senior Management.

 

 

Responsibilities

A key member of the Group Financial Reporting Team, participating in the delivery of month-end reporting for headquarter companies as well as participating in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements. In doing so, financial control compliance must be maintained, whilst striving for process and procedure improvement.

 

Specific areas of work:

  • Working with Colleagues across the Group and UK Shared Service Centre to complete elements of the monthly reporting process for headquarter companies. Being accountable for the preparation of journals relating to Provisions and the audit accrual, as well as reviewing the intercompany and other balance sheet reconciliations
  • This work above could include a focus on how the business prepares its reporting in the UK market – with a focus of working closely with the Gloucester shared service Team
  • Supporting members of the shared service centre
  • Completion of financial controls in accordance with the controls framework as required by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX)
  • Supporting Group Consolidation
  • Preparation of cash flow statements for head office companies and review of subsidiary cash flows
  • Assistance with the preparation of Group IFRS quarterly and annual financial reporting deliverables, including preparing consolidation journals, financial disclosures and technical accounting papers
  • Electronic tagging of quarterly and annual financial statements in WDESK (Workiva platform) – iXBRL reporting in accordance with US requirements
  • Assisting with Group cash flow forecasting reporting
  • Input into the Annual budget and Quarterly forecasts
  • Contributing updates to the Group Accounting Policy Manual
  • Supporting any projects impacting financial reporting (previous examples include acquisition accounting, refinancing, share repurchase and restructuring activities)
  • Participating in the completion of statutory accounts under FRS 101 for several UK Companies (for 2022 onwards)
  • Liaison with internal and external Auditors and provide relevant information when required
  • Participation in finance & accounting projects, including those aimed at further utilising systems
  • Opportunity to spend up to two weeks a year assisting with European internal audit tasks, which could involve travel
  • Any other ad-hoc tasks required to meet the needs of the Financial Reporting Group and its interaction with the wider audience of Stakeholders, e.g. auditors, Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis, Tax, legal, Companies House, ONS, review of subsidiary accounts
  • Deadlines and accuracy of reporting

 

Qualifications

Essential

  • Graduate
  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • 1-2 years PQE experience across a wide sector of businesses
    Good understanding of IFRS
  • Good understanding of month end closing process (B/S reconciliations, Intercompany, Journal entries, accruals, etc.)
  • Highly computer literate: strong Excel skills are a must
  • Able to work under time pressure and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Pro-active and self-starter
  • Able to work under time pressure, manage multiple deadlines and prioritise
  • Works independently using own initiative
  • Ability to build relationships across multiple user sites
  • Ambition to learn and get exposure to different areas of financial reporting

Desirable

  • Previous finance reporting role experience
  • Previous FMCG experience
  • Budget & forecasting
  • US Listed (NYSE, NASDAQ, etc.) entity experience
  • SAP FI (General Ledger), BPC (Financial Reporting) and Workiva (3rd party reporting software) systems knowledge
  • Experience with working with multiple foreign currency entities
  • Understanding of the consolidation process
  • FRS 101 for Company statutory accounts
  • Presentation and communication skills
