The UK Agriculture Manager is responsible for sourcing fresh vegetables at required cost and quality and volume for Nomad branded demands.


Primarily this involves the leadership of the UK pea operation from seed to factory, leading a field team to manage long term relationships with farmers and suppliers, accounting for 1/3 of the UK’s frozen pea production. This includes the interface with the processing factory and the delivery of our Nomad agriculture purpose and values internally and externally, driving forwards productivity and sustainability initiatives.


  • Direct line management to the UK Agriculture team
  • Rapid development towards taking on P&L ownership for the UK in-house Peas Direct cost centre to semi-finished product.
  • Responsible and accountable for UK Agriculture indirect cost centre budget
  • Full awareness and communication to key stakeholders of seasonal variables and potential impacts, and compliance to a set reporting structure
  • Key responsibility to drive improvement in performance and efficiency of the UK Pea Operation
  • Communication of group pea demand to UK Ag Operation Manager
  • In season harvest leadership and accountability of the operation daily
  • Act as an ambassador for the Hull pea operation
    • Marketing unit (internal customers)
    • Occasionally to external customers
    • Media and PR activities
  • Contribute to development of long-term strategy and drive implementation locally, plus sourcing strategies for other agri crops
  • Coordinate continuous improvement projects in the department
  • Represent and lead UK agriculture in the Group CSR Sustainable Agriculture activities as appropriate and cascading any resulting initiatives
  • Drive forwards innovation and technology implementation to deliver evidenced value
  • Manage the high-level relationship with the growers’ cooperative including attending board meetings
  • Represent the business at relevant frozen veg industry events / groups e.g. PGRO council



  • Degree level in Agriculture or Crop Science
  • Experience of managing teams
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in complex crop management


  • BASIS crop protection
  • Management qualification
  • Experience in vegetable freezing operations
