To provide culinary leadership for Nomad Food Europe

To drive the chef leadership Team agenda to use culinary resources in the most effective way to balance central and local priorities


Central Must Win Battles


Focus personal effort on specific CMWB in terms of futures, trends & insights


  • Seeks out new culinary techniques relevant to the future of food strategy. Eg Sustainable food
  • Be a key partner with the Futures team to create stimulus for Central Must will battles
  • To partner with CMWB champion to create stimulus for Central Pipelines
  • To develop relationships with institutions who are experts in our better food levers of Taste & Nutrition & translate their work into food experiences


  • Educates others with current & future food trends. (membership of councils / food bodies)
  • Organises NF themed food safaris
  • Insights
  • Using NF Consumer insights work with existing tools to relate Consumer benefits to product attributes and translate these into a food experience

The Best Food Experience for Our Consumers

  • Be the custodian of food values across Nomad Foods brands and represent these passionately in the internal and external environments
  • Ensure best practise and harmonised ways of working across all geographies. eg., testing methodologies, sampling, cooking instructions etc.
  • Work closely with procurement to understand sourcing of new ingredients & develop relationships with our suppliers Culinary Teams
  • Be an Ambassador for the Company Nutrition policy
  • Partner with sensory Manager in-market to understand key drivers of liking (DoL) on core SKUs. Give guidance on sensory language to describe product attributes.  Use sensory data to give guidance on recipe development


  • Maintain close links with Head Office & regional locations to ensure optimal impact and influence
    Provide direction on digital content to local markets and share best practise across Nomad Foods 
    Provide leadership of the NF Culinary Council

Culinary Capability

  • On-board new Culinary team members as part of the M&A programme
  • Recruit and mentor the Bedfont culinary assistant.   (1 year rolling contract)
  • Foster good working relationships between team members and promote the Chef community throughout the business
  • Build R&D capability and develop key talent within the Chef Team


  • Through product design / food experience deliver Consumer satisfaction (maintain low complaints), high perceived quality products, high repeat rates
  • Ensure recipe development is timely and focussed in the right areas (CMWB vs Local) by region and priority
  • Support the three CMWB Culinary Champions with input into ideation sessions with futures stimulus
  • Deliver competitive advantage on core SKUs – hit KPIs for benchmarking and superiority work
  • Be the public face of Nomad Foods– knowledgeable about our products, quality & nutrition within the relevant categories
  • Lead, shape and recruit, the NF Culinary Council; focus on hot topics such as Sustainability
  • Responsible for showcasing our food at NF Snr Leadership Meetings
  • Provide relevant digital content in market that improves brand equity
  • Deliver a Quarterly Nomad Foods Culinary Newsletter which includes a food trends report each year to inspire and engage the organisation
  • All innovation to conform to Nomad Foods Nutrition policy
  • Ensure conformity to Nomad Foods Europe WOW - e.g., cooking instructions, nutrition calculation etc.
  • Manage culinary resources – prioritise workload and say no to non-value added activities



  • High level culinary skill
  • Food raw material understanding including commercial and supply chain constraints
  • Thought leadership in creating interesting food experiences from Consumer insights
  • Nutrition understanding and application in recipe development

  • Maximise rollout opportunities through a deep knowledge of Consumer trends and Customer requirements

  • Coach and mentor Culinary CMWB Champions & Culinary Assistants
  • Build external strategic relationships
  • Identify opportunities for new claims
  • Delivering quality to the Consumer and Customer – apply Consumer insight and Customer feedback to develop and optimise product specifications in order to maintain and improve quality

  • Deep understanding fish / poultry / vegetables and frozen food
  • Product development within an FMCG culture
  • Membership of Professional Culinary body
