Overview

e-Commerce has delivered consistent growth for Nomad Foods over the past few years and our brands often enjoy share premiums Online vs Instore.  The eCommerce channel represents almost 10% of the Nomad Foods business and is a key strategic pillar of the Nomad Foods growth ambition.

 

Job Purpose: The core purpose of this role is to ensure that we drive Commercial excellence in all that we do Online both today and tomorrow. The role will liaise across functions and our agencies, both centrally and in-market.  The role will focus on everything from driving profitable share growth via Retailer Multichannel Joint Business Planning thinking, to creating the blueprint for leveraging Retailer media both directly and via our agencies.

 

The role will report directly into the Group Digital Director, liaising closely with multiple Stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities

Overall:

 

Support the Digital Director in embedding existing best practice across all markets:

  • Continually review, refresh and evolve a clear Commercial Vision & Strategy to driving ongoing executional excellence which delivers accelerated, and industry leading, profitable share growth
  • Continually horizon scan to ensure that Nomad Foods sees emerging channels (eg On Demand) or emerging capabilities (eg shoppable Social Media content), and has plans in place to create relevant future capabilities/ blueprints
  • Own key blueprints/ best practice, such as designing for the eCommerce channel (whether product, technical or commercial innovation), or planning and activating best in class Retailer Media

Designing for the eCommerce channel:

  • Drive a focus on designing for the eCommerce channel, which delivers industry leading results
  • Update and maintain an ongoing Trading strategy blueprint, with assortment, distribution and promotional activation plans optimised for the channel (with blueprints also working seamlessly in conjunction with instore plans for Multichannel retailers)
  • Commercial innovation – create activation blueprints which build upon and evolve the existing proven Key Business Drivers
  • Technical innovation – work across functions to ‘design for the channel’ – whether eCommerce optimised pack sizes or variants tailored for the channel

Multichannel Thinking:

Driving Multichannel Joint Business Planning: 

  • Creating the blueprint and driving adoption of a Multichannel Joint Business Planning approach
  • Be the owner of Nomad Foods and Retailer Online P&L best practice – reinforcing why eCommerce is good for the shopper, Retailer and Nomad Foods

Retailer Media:

Work internally and externally to ensure that Retailer media investment delivers the strongest ROI possible:

  • Create and maintain a strong and aligned Retailer media approach with clearly defined owners and responsibilities across internal Commercial & Marketing Teams, Publicis and Retailer Media Teams
  • Create and maintain blueprint for Planning, buying and activating Retailer media, which may differ depending on market maturity
  • Focus on aligned consumer and shopper planning cycles: ensure frequent and optimal cross functional ways of working to ensure that the consumer and shopper both see seamless execution

Driving Capability:

Co-Drive ‘raising the bar’ for eCommerce capability inside Nomad Foods:

  • Supporting markets to meet and exceed their eCommerce targets
  • Subject matter owner for Nomad Foods eCommerce Academy programme
  • Owner of Test and Learn plan across functions, markets and external partners to prove Key Business Driver progression
  • Own and maintain ‘Driving Business Performance’ and ‘Demand Creation’ sections of the eCommerce Playbook

 

Qualifications

Essential

  • 6-8 years working experience in Commercial/ Marketing functions in FMCG Companies, ideally food. Good experience of the eCommerce channel
  • Proven track record of achievement in an FMCG environment, ideally has high levels of commercial acumen and has managed a P&L 
  • Proven track record of delivering results, meeting or exceeding targets/ KPIs for: Sales, market share & profitability/ delivering Cost Price Increases/ Commercial &/or technical innovations
  • Proven experience in working with, and tailoring approach and style as necessary to multiple Stakeholders to deliver bold results. Experience includes across functions, centrally and in-market, and at multiple levels from Graduate to General Manager
  • A passionate believer in new models and channels, inspiring and supporting others inside and outside of Nomad Foods to create and maximise profitable growth opportunities
  • Highly analytical and a role model for data-based decision making
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail
  • Mandatory language requirements: English
  • Consumer and Shopper understanding
  • Focussed on continuing to raise the bar with a bias to action
  • Evidence of personal resilience in respect of demonstrable experience of being resourceful and highly tenacious

Desirable

  • Advanced eCommerce knowledge and experiences, for instance has been an in-market Head of eCommerce
  • Has previously worked across different countries and with diverse nationalities, has in-market business experience
  • Multi market insights and analysis experience
  • Local retail sales experience
  • Understanding of French/ German/ Italian would be an advantage
