  • Overview

    The purpose of the role is to manage the business interface for Poultry, Veg, Potatoes, Vegetarian & Gluten Free categories in Iceland including development and delivery of an Account plan and Joint Business Plan that drives performance in the market and against internal budgets and forecasts.

     

    Utilising category & consumer insight to influence Iceland to take actions that drive shopper behaviour at points of purchase in order to achieve key business targets.

     

    Operating as a key member of a cross functional Customer team, including Category, Shopper, Finance, Supply and Marketing, who are all working towards one shared goal.

    Responsibilities

    • Creating an effective relationship with the Customer’s teams for Poultry, Veg, Potatoes, Vegetarian & Gluten Free categories
    • Development and Management of a Joint Business Plan for Poultry, Veg, Potatoes, Vegetarian & Gluten Free categories
    • Development and Management of an Account plan that works for Birds Eye
    • Negotiating trade terms are aligned internally and to the Customer JBP
    • Maintaining an accurate Demand forecast, including Risks and Opportunities
    • Driving availability of existing SKU's (MHA), New SKU’s & managing SKU changes
    • Ensuring all plans are supported by effective visibility & value driving Promotions
    • Supporting the Category Team in advising the customer through Range Reviews

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • A complete understanding of the FMCG industry in the UK.  3+ years of progressive involvement in sales account management within a Blue-Chip organisation
      Mindset - Customer & Category 1st
    • Collaboration -Strong customer relationship management skills
    • Selling - Ability to sell commercial propositions in line with company and customer needs
    • Negotiation - Resilience & excellent negotiation skills in order to achieve mutually acceptable outcomes in often very demanding circumstances
    • Analytical Thinking - High degree of analytical skill including the ability to develop meaningful business plans; forecast effectively; carry out financial analysis, in order to provide solid management and decision-making information
    • Budget management - Accurate management of all customer specific tactical funds

    Desirable

    • Some category management or trade marketing experience desired
    • Business Planning - Experience of formulating and reviewing detailed business plans.
    • Communication - Is influential and builds effective cross functional links both internally & externally
    • Influencing - Previous exposure and experience of working with and influencing senior management
