    This role forms part of the team responsible for strategy through to in-market implementation of a key growth enabler for Birds Eye. The team has responsibility for strategic pricing (including Pack Price Architecture), in-store promotional strategy and optimising Trade Terms investments with retail customers. Essentially, growing the revenue & profit pools for the Frozen categories in which Birds Eye operates and optimising Birds Eye share of it

    Birds Eye UK is a £675m turnover business unit, split Birds Eye £390m as well as the newly acquired Goodfellas Pizza £160m and Aunt Bessie’s £125m businesses.  As a result, the UK Net Revenue (“NRM”) team is being up-weighted and is the biggest and most profitable in the Nomad Foods Group.

     

    The NRM team are accountable, supported by the Sales & Marketing teams, for improving price realisation, optimising trade spend and promotional effectiveness. The NRM programmes need to support the brand’s strategic direction and be consistent with our key retailer strategies for growth. Success will be defined as NRM initiatives having a demonstrable and sustainable positive impact on the P&L of the business.

     

    We are looking for an ambitious and talented individual to work on key NRM business reporting and commercial pack / price / promo strategies, whilst leveraging close working relationships with the Sales, Marketing and commercial Finance teams. You will be part of a 6-person cross-functional cross-category NRM team.

     

    Good career roadmaps exist for future moves into Sales, Finance, Category management or Marketing roles, in which success will rely on all strong commercial acumen, entrepreneurial flair and P&L / analytical firepower.

    Responsibilities

    NRM Strategic and Operational Plans

    • Support the NRM team in the development of the 1-3-year Revenue Strategy and operational plans, generating short & longer-term revenue initiatives that deliver against business, brand and customer targets (share, sales, profit, and sales/KG)

    This role is specifically responsible for:

    • NRM Analytics & Reporting Act as a central point to bring together all key NRM data from a wide range of sources and systems, to support the build and evolution of NRM strategy and communications to the wider UK teams
    • NRM Insight and Tools Build on and populate a suite of NRM specific tools which will be the foundation of the NRM plan. Use the outputs with the NRM and wider teams to generate initial insight and directions, e.g. Profit pool, price curves & price ladders, 9 box margin & mix management grids.
    • NRM Reporting & Dashboards Establish management information and reporting solutions that provide visibility of progress versus NRM plan and KPIs which is delivered in regular updates to the UK leadership team and UK board. Design and maintain an appropriate suite of reports that can guide the commercial teams and be used as the basis for financial targets and monthly NRM reporting to help budget owners feel and demonstrate real accountability for delivery

    NRM Operational Plans

    • Price - Support in building a clearly defined strategy including optimal price plans based on a detailed understanding of; price elasticity, curves, ladders & consumer willingness to pay.  Build annual price change recommendations based on internal and external cost pressures and consumer insight
    • Promotional Plans -Provide data and insight to develop optimal promotional guidelines annually and refresh quarterly based on changing commercial and market conditions and post evaluation insight. Lead key elements of promotional review forums & governance process across the business, driving continuous learning and insight
    • Pack strategy -Create a clear pack strategy linked to shopper behaviour, retailer priorities and SKU profitability, focused on right sizing the pack architecture to deliver shopper, retailer & revenue benefit
      Mix. Review, design and implement a mix management plan across the portfolio, focused on SKU & customer profitability & prioritisation

    Drive Strategy into in-year Action and Course Correction

    • Ensure the commercial plans are executed with sound Net Revenue Management principles, governance and Ways of Working
    • Build collaborative relationships with Sales, Marketing, Category Dev and Insights teams ensuring activation and continuous learning of NRM plans
    • Use a suite of KPIs to partner the Sales and Marketing teams in the delivery of the NRM plans, holding yourself and others to account
    • Support the front-line Sales teams with trade sell-ins relating to pack / price / promo initiatives. Lead the pro-active deployment where appropriate

    Qualifications

    • Degree, MBA or similar
    • 2+ years in commercial role (MS&P/NRM, sales, finance, category or similar) with P&L responsibility, with knowledge of pricing disciplines and tools (strategic pricing, promo, PPA)
    • Blue Chip FMCG or Grocery Retail background
    • Candidates from data & insights companies (e.g. IRI, Neilson) will be considered
