  • Overview

    Working within the Nutrition team, to enable the delivery of our Nomad Foods Europe Nutrition Strategy. The Nutrition team is Group level, therefore this role will support all countries in which Nomad Foods Europe operates.

    The Nutrition Placement Student works in the Nutrition team. Reports into Nutrition Manager, who in turn reports into Head of Nutrition. Head of Nutrition reports into R&D Director, and sits on the R&D Leadership team.

    Responsibilities

    • Supporting Head of Nutrition and Nutrition Manager in the delivery of the Nutrition Strategy
    • Informing and inspiring the business (R&D and wider commercial team) on nutrition
    • Developing product portfolio expertise, understanding the nutritional composition of our total portfolio, and the products in our categories and European markets, and how these compare with competitors
    • Supporting the business with product information, to inform product development and decision making
    • Assisting the development and delivery of training sessions
    • Working with people from across the business, including regulatory, product development and marketing

    Qualifications

    Qualifications & Previous Experience

    • Currently undertaking an undergraduate degree course in Nutrition/ Diet and Health
    • At least 2:1 achieved in first year exams
    • Keen interest in working in the food industry 

    Knowledge & Skills

    • Fluent in English, and confident in all forms of communication in English (oral and written)
    • Excellent verbal and written skills, and flair for creative and varied styles of communication
    • Close attention to detail and good analytical skills
    • Fully IT Literate - competent and confident in using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
    • Good understanding of the nutritional compositional of food
    • Awareness of food and nutrition policy and legislation, including nutrition labelling and claims

    Desirable

    • Professional working proficiency in French and/or German

    You must also confirm you have agreement from your university to undertake a 1 year student placement.  The salary for this placement is £17,500
