    This is exciting times at Nomad Foods.  We’re in a sustained period of growth and with the recent acquisitions of the Goodfella’s and Aunt Bettie’s brands, we are further cementing ourselves as the leading frozen food manufacturer in Europe.


    This is a key role based within the Group Procurement team and has Group-wide buying responsibilities for the Plastics Packaging category for Nomad Foods’ 12 manufacturing sites across Europe.  This is a complex category with a high number of specifications and suppliers.  As well as the day to day buying responsibilities you will be involved in various vital projects (working closely with R&D, CSR, and QA as well as helping to drive our sustainability pledges).


    • Provides and  demonstrates the level of Procurement expertise to drive key segments of the Packaging sourcing agenda.
    • Manages and develops supplier relationships that deliver value across quality, service, innovation and cost; with an annual spend responsibility of circa €21mi
    • Executes and supports the development of the 7-step sourcing strategy for own portfolio aligned to the Group Procurement function and overall business needs & objectives
    • Manages own portfolio cost base in-line with Budget / QFX forecast and supports continuous improvement projects.
    • Provides financial transparency and forecast accuracy of Total Price Variances
    • Effectively executes e-auctions, RFq & RFp activity
    • Provides timely raw material market commentary in a dynamic market
    • Sources from European & Global markets as appropriate
    • Identifies and maintains key Stakeholder relationships
    • Works closely with R&D/CSR team to deliver Nomad CSR/Sustainability agenda
    • Looks to consolidate both the supply base and material specifications across the group

    Key Outputs:

    • Adapts strategic sourcing plans to deliver business objectives
    • Total Price Variance against Budget and Quarterly Forecasts
    • Identifies saving potentials, manages savings delivery plans
    • Delivers savings in a timely manner to contribute to the overall Group Procurement savings targets 
    • Acts swiftly and effectively to resolve any challenges/issues that arise  
    • Supplier Relationship Management
    • Stakeholder Relationship Management

    Decision Making Authority:

    • Authorises purchasing contracts up to a spend of €1m 
    • Seeks line manager approval for contracts above €1m
    • Negotiates new Supplier terms T&C’s in line with Nomad standards and current ‘best in class’ 
    • Selects new Suppliers aligned with agreed Sourcing strategy
    • Makes tender award decisions inline with procurement operating principles   


    Qualifications & Previous Experience



    • 2+ years’ experience in a procurement function
    • Proven track record for the delivery of tangible benefits in quality, service, innovation and cost savings via a range of activities  


    • Global sourcing experience
    • Good knowledge of flexibles packaging market both the structure of the industry and key suppliers

    Knowledge & Skills

    • Familiar with strategic sourcing plans
