    Assistant Product Development Manager - Findus Italy


    The Assistant Product Development Manager (APDM) is a vital role responsible for the development of products from initial concept through to consumers testing, production and also managing post launch activities.   You will be responsible and accountable for technical aspects such as production trials and specification but also product financials, consumers drivers and final product delivery and ensure it is matches the technical brief and project targets.



    Specific responsibilities will include:

    • Maintaining knowledge of key ingredients, supply chains and manufacturing processes through trials and regular contact with suppliers, procurement and Supply UnitsEnsuring awareness of consumer habits, practices, usage, needs and preference drivers within the allocated product area to develop new products/technologies based on this consumers awareness
    • Understanding the cost / value equation and apply it in product design – which attributes do consumers really value and want to pay for and which they do not value
    • Ensure the nutritional profile is given a high priority for NPDs/EPDs ensuring products met the nutrition KPIs and acting as an ambassador of the company nutrition policy
    • Technical project management of straightforward NPD and EPD projects (e.g. a new variant) in accordance with the agreed procedures to ensure successful and timely delivery of the projects
    • Maintain a constant awareness of competitor activity, regularly review competitor products and propose routes for maintaining competitive advantage. 



    Applicants will need to have a passion for food and to hold a relevant science degree – e.g. Food Science or have relevant experience in FMCG product design and development. You will have excellent knowledge of raw food materials, nutrition and also some knowledge of sensory and consumer testing.


    Excellent project management and communication skills are essential as well as proficiency in English and Italian.
